Dean Shot

This Jersey born guitarist is the adhesive that brings it all together. If it wasn’t for the epiphany he had while watching a video of Jimi Hendrix he might have been a drummer, instead, we have one of the most entertaining, guitar totin’ bluesman on the Eastcoast. Some would say that Dean is a self taught guitarist but as he says “ I don’t believe anyone is self taught, we all have many teachers and it’s just how hard we listen and learn that make the difference”. So who are some of Dean’s “teachers” you ask? Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, and BB King just to name a few. Oh by the way Dick Dale also, you’ve got to hear Dean’s version of “Miserlou”.

He’s gigged with several local bands such as Roadside Louie and the Dusters & Filthy Rich and the Poorboys. In 1998 he formed “Dean Shot and Extra Large with former " Blues Revue" member Chris Reardon and in 1999 Brad Vickers came on board followed by
The Blue Monday Horns  congealing into one of the most entertaining music experiences on the Eastcoast music scene,”Dean Shot and his Blues Revue”.

                    Brad “ShowBiz” Vickers

On bass guitar is the one and only Brad “Showbiz” Vickers, a mainstay on the Eastcoast blues scene for thirty years. Brad has played bass all around the world behind everyone from Chuck Berry to Pinetop Perkins. In 1999 “ShowBiz” played on DownBeat magazine’s “Blues Album of the Year”, Pinetop Perkins’ Born in The Delta, which was nominated for a Grammy award. Twelve bar blues, Rock & Roll, or “Missouri Boogie Woogie” Brad brings it all to the table for everyone to share and enjoy.

PS: Must hear music. You’ve got to hear Brad’s version of “In the Wee Wee Hours”. Very cool, very haunting.
